Hand-poured with love, every Paz Mea candle deserves to be treated with care. Whether it’s your first time buying handmade or you’ve been building your scent collection for years, knowing how to care for your candle will help you enjoy its full beauty—safely and for longer.
🕯️ 1. First Burn Matters
Your very first burn sets the stage. Always let your candle melt all the way to the edges of the jar the first time you light it—this can take 2–4 hours depending on size. It helps avoid “tunneling,” where wax burns unevenly and wastes product.
✂️ 2. Trim That Wick
Before every burn, trim the wick to about ¼ inch. A long or crooked wick can cause high flames, black soot, or uneven melting. Clean burns = better scent and longer candle life.
🧊 3. Store it Right
Keep your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. Natural waxes (like soy or coconut) can soften or fade with too much exposure.
🔥 4. Don’t Overburn
Don’t leave your candle burning for more than 4 hours at a time. The jar gets hot, and the wick can mushroom or smoke. For best results, light, enjoy, and then let it rest.
📍 5. Safety First
Never leave a candle unattended
Keep out of reach of pets & children
Always place candles on a heat-safe surface
Extinguish fully—no blowing wax everywhere!
✨ 6. Bonus Tip: Repurpose the Jar
When the candle’s done, clean out leftover wax with warm water and dish soap, and reuse the jar for cotton balls, matches, or little trinkets.
